The Federation of Indian Associations of Victoria (FIAV) was formed in 1989 by a group of resident Indian migrants of long-standing and repute that was keen to bring all the various regional, cultural and lingual Indian groups together under the one umbrella organization.
The FIAV’s goal was to serve as an umbrella organisation for all the Indian community organisations in Victoria bringing together all the individual organisations as a unified body in order to strengthen the community and provide improved services to the Indian origin population in Victoria.
By establishing such an organisation with the objective of unifying the Indian origin community in Victoria, the Local, State, Federal and the Indian governments were able to effectively reach out and communicate with the wider Australian Indian population as a whole

Invitation for 26 Jan 2020 Parade, Melbourne
January 26th is a very significant day for all Australians and Indians alike, living here in Australia. To commemorate Australia day and India Republic Day we participate in the Australia Day Parade along with many other communities. Each community comes to the rally as one and has one flag and one banner representing their nationality.
It is important that we display our unity and solidarity as one group and as one community as Indians, march together shoulder to shoulder as one family. This year we will participate in the parade as one community VICTORIAN INDIAN COMMUNITY.

Australia Bushfire Appeal
|We are all aware of ongoing unprecedented bushfires in Victoria/Australia. Many lives and homes are lost. Humongous loss to our forests and wildlife.
Many volunteers and firefighters from within the community and around the world have come together to help us.
At such unexpected times, FIAV encourages the community to donate/support to various charities and initiatives for bushfire relief in Australia.
Our prayers are with all affected families, volunteers and firefighters
